A national coalition of local government leaders advancing public investment in urban agriculture
Who We Are
Collaboration is at the core of our work and the strength of the Urban Agriculture Directors Alliance (UADA) lies in its partnership-driven model.
It was a decade ago that Atlanta become the first city to establish a Director of Urban Agriculture. In 2020, the three cities who then had ag directors started talking on a regular basis. Over the past five years we’ve seen tremendous growth in our efforts. Our membership now represents over 20 cities from across the US, seven of which now have urban ag directors on staff. The sharp increase in attendance highlights the urgent and growing need for increased support.

UADA's Goals
-
Embed urban agriculture into core city functions and planning frameworks;
-
Catalyze shared innovation through peer learning and technical support;
-
Elevate national urban agriculture policy through city-led coordination;
-
Unlock public and philanthropic funding for equitable food systems; and
-
Deliver measurable local impacts on food access, climate adaptation, and workforce development.
