Convenings
Many urban agriculture directors work in one-person offices, often the only person in their government focused on food and agriculture. Our convenings bring members into the same room, where they compare notes on what's working, what isn't, and what to try next. A strategy that took one city years to figure out can become another city's starting point by the end of a single conversation.
Why We Gather
UADA meets regularly online, and once a year we gather in person. Peer relationships are among the most valuable things members get from the network: practical guidance, mentorship, and a colleague who understands the job. Time together also lets members test new ideas, from zoning language to funding models to ways of measuring impact, and take home approaches that have already been tried somewhere else.

Inaugural Convening
March 2026
Discussions at this gathering helped shape our national Landscape Analysis, alongside our member interviews and survey. One thing that came up repeatedly was a shared interest in a consistent way to measure what urban agriculture programs accomplish, so cities can benchmark their progress and make the case for sustained investment.
