Reports & Publications

UADA's reports put what local governments are learning into one place, so a director starting a program in a mid-sized city can see what peers in Atlanta, Denver, or Philadelphia have already tried. Everything here comes from the people doing the work, and it's written to be used.

The Case for Urban Agriculture as Essential Civic Infrastructure
Lessons, Models, and Strategies from Urban Agriculture Leaders Across the Country

Business Analysis Focus

This Landscape Analysis draws on interviews with 28 UADA member cities and counties across 22 states, along with a survey and discussions from our March 2026 member convening. It asks a question that much of the existing literature leaves unanswered: how can local governments build urban agriculture programs that are impactful, durable, equitable, and institutionally embedded? It pays particular attention to whether programs survive mayoral transitions, budget shortfalls, and the end of grant cycles.
